What is the oldest possession in your house or flat? Describe it or show us a picture. Where did it come from? Why do you hang on to it?
*******************************************************************
I think these are the oldest things I own. There are a couple of pictures that could possibly be older, but they're not dated so I'm not sure. These are four of the pieces from the box of china I have. It's not quite a complete set, but I have quite a bit. It was the china that my great-grandmother was given when she married in 1893. Her daughter, my grandmother, gave them to me. I only have boys, so I will probably keep them until I have a grand-daughter of my own to pass them on to.
I don't suppose it's all that valuable, as I said, it's not quite even a whole set and a couple of pieces don't look so well, but obviously it has great sentimental value to me. Some day (like in 10-20 years) I'll expand my kitchen and get a cabinet to hold and display them instead of the box I currently keep them in
